Data Collection
Aurie collects and stores the following data:
- Bookmark URLs, titles, descriptions, images, favicons, tags, and layout preferences
- Your dashboard, space, and section organization structure
- User account information (email address and authentication provider when you create an account)
- Application preferences and settings (theme, colors, display options, custom tiles, quick links)
How Your Data is Stored
With an Account (Signed In)
Aurie requires an account to use the app. When you create an account and sign in, your data is stored securely in our cloud database (Supabase/PostgreSQL) and also saved to your browser's localStorage as a backup. This means:
- Your data is automatically synchronized across all devices where you sign in
- Your data is securely stored in our encrypted database
- A local backup is maintained in your browser for offline access
- When you make changes, they are saved to both the database and localStorage
- If you sign up with existing localStorage data, it will be automatically migrated to your account
- The database is the primary source of truth for your data
Account Access
During beta, account creation is available by invitation code only. A subscription model will be introduced in the future. These access requirements do not change how your data is stored or used.
Data Usage
Your data is used solely to provide the bookmark organization service. Specifically:
- To store and organize your bookmarks across your devices
- To remember your preferences and settings
- To authenticate your account and provide secure access
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except as required by law. We do not use your bookmarks or browsing data for advertising or analytics purposes.
Browser Extension Data
If you use the Aurie browser extension, the extension only accesses tab data (URL, title, and favicon) when you choose to import tabs. The extension stores your Aurie app URL in local browser storage to connect to your account.
The extension does not run remote code, does not collect analytics, and does not share tab data with third parties. Data is sent only to your Aurie app when you initiate an import.
